Yoga and the Healing Power of Plants

‘The state of yoga may be attained through dharmic birth, the use of sacred plants, mantra, tapaha, or samadhi’ – Patanjali, yoga sutra 4.1

Yoga and plant remedies are complementary modalities. Both can help people identify more with the heart and soul, to integrate our emotions and experience true freedom and joy. They could help humanity transition into a deeper wisdom and a consciousness revolution. This is referring to plants with psychedelic properties that help to open the mind and aid with achieving samadhi. However, there are plants can also help to heal humans with all physical and mental aliments….

The philosopher and teacher Rudolf Steiner once said ‘For every human illness, somewhere in the world there exists a plant which is the cure. I believe that there is a healing potential locked inside plant which is integral with their evolution, just as it is part of human evolution to learn to tap this wonderful gift of nature’.

The modern world has unfortunately slipped into a state where the majority rely on pharmaceutical drugs. The pharmaceutical giants, also known as ‘Big

Pharma’ are so powerful they have bought into the media, our governments and healthcare systems.

90% of modern diseases the World Health Organisation recognises as untreatable and modern research techniques have so far failed to produce any breakthrough results for chronic illnesses such as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes and cancer etc.. Furthermore, we cannot rely on any studies into these diseases because of the financial interest of large global corporations involved in the research. They never take into account state of mind, diet, lifestyle and emotions or even consider nature’s healing gifts.

Hence it is no wonder more people in the West are turning to yoga philosophy to help heal their bodies and to the natural, healing plant wonders of the earth, given to us by Mother Nature.

Yoga philosophy teaches us how to purify the mind and restore our lost integrity as complete human beings. Thus enabling us to living in harmony with Mother Earth and all those with whom we share it.
